What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic healthcare practice that has evolved from centuries of traditional medicine. It is a scientifically based approach that uses nature’s medicine and the body’s own ability to heal in order to promote wellness of the whole person encompassing mind, body and spirit. Naturopathy considers health as more than just the absence of disease but as a state of physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
Principles of Naturopathy
- Utilise the healing power of nature
- First do no harm
- Find and treat the cause, not only the symptom
- Always treat the whole person, not only their disease
In your consultation, your naturopath will take a thorough case history including current and previous illnesses, diet, lifestyle, environment and family history. The consultation will also include diagnostic tools such as iris analysis, nails and tongue analysis and functional testing. Your naturopath will provide a completely confidential, save and supportive environment where you can freely discuss all aspects of your health.
Your Naturopathic Treatment
Your naturopathic treatment aims to restore balance to your body and support your own innate ability to heal. Every treatment will be tailored to meet your specific needs and lifestyle. The main tools of a naturopathic treatment include dietary recommendations and modifications, lifestyle management, stress management, herbal and nutritional supplements.
