In June 2014 Nicolas had his first consultation with Jane Ma, Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner at AcuNatural Health. Nicolas wanted help with losing weight, and reducing the resulting stress that this is causing to his body including sore muscles and joints. Jane Ma discussed a treatment plan including lifestyle advice based on Traditional Chinese Medicine for weight loss. Previously Nicolas would skip breakfast daily, eat lunch followed by a large meal size at dinner. Nicolas was advised to start incorporating breakfast into his daily routine, lunch and a small meal serving at dinner. Nicolas was also put on a specialised weight loss program including acupuncture session 3 times per week for 2 weeks with electric needles, in combination with a specialised type of weight loss massage. Treatment was reduced to twice a week for an additional 4 weeks, followed by once a week for 4 weeks. Treatment was 10 weeks in total. During this time Nicolas lost approximately 1 kilogram every week, equating to a total loss of 12 kilograms. Nicolas also had greater mobility and reduced tension and pain in his neck, shoulder, lower back and thigh area as these areas were also targeted during treatment.
Jane seeks to uncover the root causes of problems, rather than simply treating the symptoms to ensure health and well-being for the long-term.
