Janet has experienced Carpel Tunnel Syndrome for a period of 8 months. Her symptoms include pain and reduced mobility in her wrists and hands. Janet also presented with a range of problems that are common for her age: high blood pressure, menopause, overweight, fatigue, dizziness, hot flushes, fluid retention, puffy face, ringing in ears, Scoliosis and Diverticulitis.
Janet previously visited a medical doctor who advised her that she would probably require surgery for her Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. Janet would want this to be the last resort for her problem. She started seeking alternative therapies and undertook regular massage for her Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, however any relief experienced was very short term, lasting usually only 1 day. Janet is seeking treatment that can improve the function of her hand and wrist, reduce the associated pain and avoid the need for surgery.
Experience with Acupuncture
17nd January – 16th January 2014 – 3 treatments over 2 weeks.
On the 17th of January 2014 Janet visited AcuNatural Health and had a consultation with Jane Ma (Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner). During Janet’s initial consultation, acupuncture needles were concentrated around her wrist and hand to reduce swelling, tightness and pain. Three days later Janet presented at the clinic for her 2nd treatment. By this time her hand and wrist had improved dramatically with these areas feeling more relaxed and experiencing greater flexibility and less pain. From here Jane decided she would concentrate now on her other presenting symptoms including menopause and weight to uncover the root cause of her ill health.
Jane seeks to uncover the root causes of problems, rather than simply treating the symptoms to ensure health and well-being for the long-term.
