Pre- Conception Treatments

There are many ways you can prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy, our pre-conception packages are designed to prepare your body so that you can have the healthiest possible pregnancy and birth.

Two treatments with our Diploma trained Massage Therapist will assist you by:

  • Posture analysis, isolating imbalances caused by tension, injury or weakness;
  • Releasing muscles tension caused by stress, injury or overuse;
  • Physical manipulation to open and balance the muscles of the pelvis and abdomen;
  • Recommendations for stretches to open the pelvis;
  • Recommendations for strengthening exercises to assist in opening the pelvis whilst strengthening the core.

These treatments are designed to balance you prior to pregnancy and encourage a regular, gentle exercise routine at home prior to conception and during the pregnancy.

Benefits of Exercise

Exercising both before and during your pregnancy is shown to lead to a healthier pregnancy, less complications during birth and a faster recovery.  Exercise also lowers the risk of serious complications during pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes or high blood pressure.  Exercise also improves mood and mobility during pregnancy and also has been shown to reduce postnatal depression.

If you’re new to exercise, it is important to introduce any new routine gradually. It’s not a sign of weakness to slow down or moderate your activity or alter it altogether.

From the perspective of Chinese Medicine, exercise helps move Stagnant Chi, improving circulation and the flow of fluids, digestion, and hormones.  This assists those who are planning to conceive and women who are pregnant.
